PDF Compressor is a small tool that does what its name says: it lets you compress PDF files. As popular as they may be, if they get too big, PDF files will also become hard to share and distribute online. And the easiness of sharing was one of the main advantages of this document format. Therefore compressing PDF to reasonable sizes is a need often encountered by those working with this type of files on a frequent basis.
I like PDF Compressor to some degree, and I would’ve liked it even more if its interface displayed clearly by how much the size of a PDF file was reduced after compressing it with this tool. Unfortunately, there’s no such a feature and I had to manually check the size of the PDFs files before and after compressing them using this application. Furthermore, its official says that a maximum compression level of 23% can be reached, and that doesn’t sound like good enough to me.
Anyway, PDF Compressor is very simple and straightforward. It lets you batch compress multiple files at the same time and this can save you a lot of precious time. PDF Compressor can also automatically remove the restrictions from protected PDF files as well.
In conclusion, since it’s also completely free, I think PDF Compressor is still worth a shot. The easy-to-use interface and the batch mode make it a pretty attractive utility despite its flaws.
